Offroad Legends 2: tearing up the terrain on Apple TV
Mega-monster 4-wheel motor mayhem through impossible stunts and terrains–this is Offroad Legends 2.
Offroad Legends 2 the max
Offroad Legends 2 puts you in the driver’s seat of 16 mega-monster vehicles and it’s your job to tear up the terrain. You’ve got monster trucks, pickups, old-timers, buggies, busses and big rigs ready to go. Unlock ‘em and grind up 64 different tracks. These take you over impossible terrain, jumping ravines, bridges and nutty ramp constructions. Canyons, Alpine mountain and desert scenes are your playground to get it in gear. Besides terrain, bombs, lava and other crazy obstacles will put your tilt-control virtual driving skills to the test.
Warmup to Pro Cup
The game premise follows the straightforward racing style. You have Career mode to thrash 8 rounds in each of 8 vehicle challenge Warmups. Your goal: to get through the track and achieve 3 stars per Warmup to unlock new levels and extreme machines. Additionally, get the best time possible, which you can return to to improve and grab all stars. Get through the Warmup levels and advance to Pro Cup races and the really gnarly vehicles. If you can’t wait for those mean machines, In-App purchases are available. After all Offroad Legends 2 is a free-to-play game. Before you go 2 the max with races, try out the Kid’s Playground for practicing the physics-based game controls. Go pro and you can move on to high-octane Vs. races with online opponents.
Speaking of gameplay mechanic: the Apple TV Siri remote acts as your accelerometer tilt-control. The game is side-scrolling but you have to keep the truck balanced throughout the radical terrains or crash & burn. The physics mechanic works excellently and is both the skill objective and most of the fun. If you prefer button controls to tilt however, just switch it in the Settings window. Another cool feature in Offroad Legends 2 is the Garage tuning to customize your ride’s traction, speed and durability. Got the gist? Then it’s time for gnarly bridge, ramp and lava jumps, avoiding bombs, powering up with nitro and generally becoming a friggin’ legend!
Offroad Legends 2 developers DogByte Games did an awesome job to keep you on the edge of your seat. The vertical ascents or mad bridge/ramp constructions and getting air are unadulterated fun. Then there’s the graphics and little details. Whether on a desert track, mountain terrain or active volcano lava field the artwork detail is sweet. Throughout the game you will be rocked too with a Rock/Metal soundtrack. Although the game is outrageously impossible in realism, the backgrounds and features look great. However, the fact that your truck falls apart as you tear up the terrain adds a touch of realism. But hey, the fun here is exactly how crazy impossible this trials-type racer is.
Yes, it’s extreme, yes it’s impossible and yes it’s tons of jaw-jittering fun… awesome dudes!
